Underground Owners Open New Restaurant!

As many of you know, the kitchen at the Underground is about the size of a postage stamp, with baby-sized cooking equipment to boot (a countertop convection oven and a plug-in burner). This is all frustrating to Chef Martín, an extremely accomplished chef whose background is in the production of high-end volume gourmet food. We have had our eyes peeled throughout this beautiful valley for a location in which to continue to pursue our culinary ventures, which include catering, a possible product line, and continuing to service and expand on the menu needs at the Underground. And we found our location, right here in Newberg.

Located at Villa Road and 99W, in the Cape Cod style shopping center where the Dark Horse (Medici Wine) Tasting Room, Nikki Jane’s Boutique, and more reside, it previously housed a restaurant called Urban Cellar. It is now ours, and what’s more (you asked for it and you got it) we opened another restaurant!

Subterra - A Wine Cellar Restaurant, is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday starting at 5 p.m. and Sunday for brunch from 9 to 2 p.m. Our menu is "affordable fine dining" with three course dinners running from $15 to $21 and an extremely reasonably priced and delicious brunch. Crazy But True Fact!
When the Underground first opened about 12 years ago (by someone who owned it for a nano-second) its original location was the site of our new restaurant (they moved). Hence the name "Underground" - because it is.. underground!
